Wellness counselling in Edgemead
Sometimes the hardest part is finding someone close enough to actually get to, on a week that is already full.
Restoring Wholeness is based in Edgemead, in Cape Town's northern suburbs. Sessions are in person here, or online anywhere in South Africa if getting out of the house is the thing standing in the way.
Counselling in your own suburb
Edgemead sits close to Bothasig, Monte Vista, Goodwood, Plattekloof, Panorama, Welgemoed and Table View, and most people reach the practice in well under twenty minutes. That matters more than it sounds. Counselling works best when it is regular, and regular is easier when it isn't a trek across town in traffic.
There is parking, the room is quiet and private, and you won't sit in a waiting room full of other people.

- Low mood and feeling stuck in the same pattern
- Pornography, sexual behaviour and shame
- Work stress, burnout and everything feeling like too much

Ways we can work
Individual counselling — one-to-one sessions at your own pace.
Couples counselling — for partners who want to understand what keeps happening between them.
Family counselling — when the difficulty sits between people rather than inside one person.
Online counselling — the same session by video, wherever you are in South Africa.
Who you'd be sitting with
Pierre West is a Specialist Wellness Counsellor registered with the ASCHP, working from Edgemead with clients across the northern suburbs and online. His approach is practical and unhurried: making sense of what is happening, and working out what might actually help.
What a first session is like
You don't need to arrive with the right words. Most first sessions start with whatever is closest to the surface, and we work back from there. By the end you'll have a sense of what's going on and what a next step might look like — there's no obligation to book a series.
Weekday mornings, late afternoons and early evenings are the usual session times, so most people come before or after work.
